Pastor Meg Hegemann

Hi. I'm Meg Hegemann, the pastor here at Wilkes Boulevard UMC. Thanks for checking out our website.

Our church history will tell you that Broadway Methodist Church began the dream that became Wilkes Boulevard UMC about 100 years ago. As with any milestone, it is a good time to reflect on and celebrate that history while dreaming together about what the next 100 years might look like. Certainly it will be vastly different than the last century as we live into a new world with new ways of communicating the good news of Jesus Christ.

Despite the changes ahead, many of our human needs remain the same:

- The need for connection with each other - an authentic community of people who are willing to be vulnerable with us on our journey of faith.
- The need for connection with God - an intentional way of developing an awareness of God's grace that is always present, if sometimes hidden.
- The need to be needed - a way of sharing ourselves with others and with creation that makes a positive difference.

Is the church, or this particular church, the best way to get those needs met? I don't know. But I do believe that God has promised to be present in every place where people seek to know God, and this is one of those places. I do believe that meeting these needs is a goal worth striving for.

If you are interested in accepting the challenge to pursue real community - to strive toward becoming more like Christ - to find and work with God in the world - come join us.

Dare to trust. Dare to hope. And I'll dare to journey with you.

Peace, Meg Hegemann
